The Foundation
An all-volunteer group of parents, faculty, and staff raising money to support teachers, the Shark Tank & Learning Lab, student learning tools, programs and enrichment at Newport Heights.
The PTA
A parent-volunteer organization that connects students, families and the school community through events and works to positively impact all children and families.

Foundation
Main focus
Raising money to fund staff, programs and resources that enhance learning for every student.
Support & activities
3 certified math and reading support teachers, a full-time Shark Tank & Learning Lab teacher, learning tools, programs, clubs and school enrichment.
How it raises money
Fall Donation Drive & Matching, the Annual Gala, Party for a Purpose, Restaurant Nights and corporate matching.
Who runs it
An all-volunteer board of parents, faculty and staff.
PTA
Main focus
Connecting children, families and the community on campus.
Support & activities
Examples include School Play, Talent Show, School Assemblies, Book Fair, Healthy Heights Week, Trunk-or-Treat, Spring Art Fair, Family Dance Night, Game Nights and Family Campout.
How it raises money
Raised money through events like Game Night and through fundraising opportunities.
Who runs it
Parent volunteers. State and national PTA organizations govern how the PTA operates and spends funds.

The Foundation and PTA are volunteer-run nonprofit organizations supporting Newport Heights students, administrators, teachers and staff. Both bring students, families and the community together through fun events. Together, they help our Sharks achieve great heights.
